Sunday Sunshine!

Today, in Chicago we got to enjoy a few hours of glorious sunshine. I traded in my puffy jacket (or as I like to call it "the sleeping bag") for this gorgeous Studded Quilted Jacket! I paired it with a cream top, ripped jeans and added Stella & Dot Accessories to finish the look!

Vogue Voyages!

{Breakfast in Germany}
Travel at this time of year can be challenging. We definitely experienced this on our recent trip home for the holidays. A very calm travel morning turned pretty hectic within minutes. On the eleventh hour our itinerary to Ireland had completely changed. Luckily, we have learned to adapt quickly to last minute travel plans. A positive spin.......we ended up having breakfast in Germany en route to Dublin!

Eternally on a quest for expert travel tips; I love to take a look back and see where I can improve next next! In the meantime, here's a few tricks I have picked up along my voyages!

I like to wear black comfortable clothes especially on long-haul flights, it hides the dirt well! I have a go-to pair of leggings from DVF which have stood the test of time & travel.

Layering is key! Perhaps you leave cooler temps and arrive in a warm climate; layering seems to work best. I typically wear a cami/tank top under my shirt (chambray or plaid) and bring a larger cardigan which can serve as a coat if needed.

{Layers: Plaid Shirt (nordrstrom rack), Faux Fur Vest (Target), Cardigan (Barney's), Cami (LOFT)}

Wear your heaviest/bulkiest shoes on travel days! I like to have comfortable shoes with me for walking through airports. For winter wear I chose the Sorel Lea Wedge as they are waterproof (perfect for a rainy day in Ireland!).

Accessorizes are a great way to "dress" up your outfit. I do love to add a great arm party (but be prepared to take this off when going through security). Scarves are always a great addition to your travel outfit as they add texture and warmth if necessary. They double up for a swim-wrap in warmer climates too!

A travel tip from my Mum! If you are checking luggage be sure to carry an extra change of undergarments & toiletries in your carry-on. You never know if your flight and baggage path may get changed or where you or your bags will end up! In this instance we were fortunate to be able to take showers in Frankfurt; it felt so refreshing and I was so thankful to have fresh clothes to change in to.
{what's in your carryon: Scarf, Bag, Sunglasses, Makeup Bag - Stella and Dot, Headphones- Bose, Plugs - Apple, Notebook - Erin Condren, Water Bottle Similar }
Travel Trinkets: I keep a zip-lock bag of smaller liquids (lotions, shampoo, lip balm, toothpaste etc) on the ready-to-go. I have added the international plugs system for my apple products and also an international plug changer. The Bose Noise-Cancelling headphones are definitely worth the splurge along with a water bottle for keeping yourself hydrated during your voyage!

Bon Voyage

The Wardrobe: Flirty & Floral for Thanksgiving

One, Two, Three, Four

It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It's one of my favorite American Holidays. I love the idea of being thankful and this celebration is pretty much all about a delicious meal that brings family together. Why not add a little flavor with your outfit too! Floral is so on trend this season, you can get floral dresses in any high-street store H&M, Topshop, Zara. Target also has a great selection. Alternatively, you could wear a floral top with some fun maroon jeans or pick a flirty dress with fall colors in mind! Enjoy thinking about your outfit for Thanksgiving Day!

Check out this leopard print scarf on special thru tonight 11/14/16
I hope you had a lovely weekend. Yesterday our neighbors hosted Friendsgiving! What a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon with fabulous neighbors and friends......and I do love any excuse to dress up! The weather has been so mild in Chicago this fall, it was the perfect reason to wear a winter white coat and pair it with this fun leopard print scarf. The fall floral top complimented my new corduroy skirt!

Thankful for so much - most importantly I am thankful that my husband made it home from his business trip to New Zealand before the earthquake hit. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in New Zealand.

Frye-Day Feeling!

Don't you just love that Friday Feeling? Today was the perfect day to put on my Frye Boots and head out to meet a friend for coffee. I've always heard Frye Boots get better with age - so true. I purchased these Melissa Boots years ago and love how they compliment the Sunday Bag from Covet by Stella & Dot. At the last minute, I added this long vest from EVEREVE to dress up my outfit and finish the look!
Layering Jewels! Covet Initial A, Covet Pave Adventure Necklace, Luna Pendant & Celine Wrap Bracelet paired with Tiffany Bead Bracelet
